My first attempt at needle-felting. I thought I’ll try out needle-felting since I took up hand-spinning and have all this wool/fiber around.
I dunno why disembodied moustaches are considered cute. Anyway, this is a sparkly felted rhinestone mobile phone dust plug with a tiny gold acorn.
My second plied yarn. (Brown Shetland Wool 2-Ply) As you can see, the yarn has gotten thinner and more even.
My first handspun. Grey Romney Wool 2 -ply. As you can see, the yarn’s pretty thick because I was unable to spin thin singles when I first started.
The red thread is simply cotton embroidery floss I had lying around that I used to skein.
100% Silk on Silk.
My own attempt at a hanfu hebao. I meant to make it out of blue satin but I couldn’t find it in the right color so I had to use blue silk instead which is more expensive *groan* The plum blossoms design is from a template but the thing was printed in such a blurry fashion by inkjet on paper that in the end I had to use my own imagination to fill in the blanks.
I made this for a friend and gave it away just before Chinese New Year but my computer troubles plus New Year obligations meant that I only got around to uploading this now.
I promised someone that I would make a bigger bag but I don’t know when that will be finished…I have yet to choose/buy the fabric…
(100% Silk on Silk) by Ink Jade Studio
I embroidered this as a Xmas present (design not by me though as this was from a kit) for a close friend. Just delivered it safely and on time. 🙂
Handmade from scratch by me using materials from a kit bought locally (so unlike my other pieces I didn’t design this).
Materials used: Genuine Swarovski crystals, Swarovski pearls, natural freshwater pearls, Toho seed beads.
